Fighting the me within

Sleepless nights turn in to restless days, which then turns into a long agonizing day for this mama. The thoughts that cloud my mind are all within the same context, however I can't stop them from bouncing around at 1230am. So I wake, grab my pen and pad that I "conveniently" keep on the night stand, and begin to write them all down.  Of course, it all looks interesting and exciting to me. So I take all the ideas, group them into short term and long term goals, actions steps, then finally by small daily task. All of this before 3am, when the alarm goes off at 445am.  Where's the snooze button??

As the day progress I can't help but to think off the awesome ideas I just had, as I chug my second cup of coffee at 730am. Isn't it funny how the more we sit and think over ideas we have, the more that inner ego starts to awaken and try to create doubt. By 9am, I'm on my 3rd cup of coffee. I find myself searching for the perfect podcast, which I have about a million, and top it off with a new book to help me understand more of what I need to do.

Have you been here before?

Have you ever felt like you have amazing ideas and the world should know and experience them? As you get more excited those feelings of doubt come in. I've heard it referred to as "imposter syndrome" or "copycat syndrome". I refer it to as " fighting the me within me".  The battlefield of the mind is a real war. It's wager is our self- confidence, self-esteem, doubt, and many other self limiting beliefs that creep in from comparison or some words rising up from a family member, friend, teacher, really anyone who deposited an once of doubt in us.

How easy it to believe the ones we know, love, and trust? It’s extremely easy! How easy is it to dismiss those thoughts and overpower them with our own? It’s not such an easy thing, if we rely solely on our power. We can't control the things that people say, but how we train our mind and soul for war is through prayer and mediation on God's word which confirms not only who we are(heirs to the kingdom) but the power we have to defeat the enemy(those self-limiting beliefs).

I'm a transparent kinda gal. I interact with almost 100 people per day in some way.  If their energy or their positive regards are not in alignment with mine, I find it very crucial to ensure my mind is ready to fight against anything that may enter the atmosphere and rest upon my ears. I have to ensure those negative seeds don't take root and plant themselves in my mind to spoil my harvest. The harvest is cultivated by knowing and mediating on what empowers me and remembering there is a  plan for me.

I thought I heard you ask: What must we do to "fight the me within"?

Well its quite simple to start.  Take about 10 minutes to brain dump. Grab a journal that is solely dedicated to your thoughts. Write everything down in your mind. Then separate them by categories. For example:

A. Dreams, Goals, and Aspirations

B. Desired Outcomes

C. How will I make those happen, no matter what

D. What is stopping me?

Now A&B make take some time, and truly write everything down. However, when you gain just a tiny glimpse of clarity, you give yourself permission to make it happen.

As we are inching towards the new year, WOW how crazy is that already, take some time to start it off right so 2020 wont be like the previous years. Kick Life Up A Notch!!!
